Is Payday 3 Actually Worth $40

With the public release of Payday 3 coming out tomorrow at the time of uploading, it's important that you and your friends watch this article because I'm going to talk about some things that may potentially save you forty dollars, depending on how you look at them. I paid seventy dollars to play the game early, and after putting in a decent amount of time playing it, I've got some things to say.
Let's talk about the good and the bad with Payday 3. Okay, let's get into it.
What is payday 3?
Payday 3 is the long-awaited sequel to the forever popular payday, 2. A game that has enough Prestige, to its name to last a lifetime or more Payday 2 was my first introduction to the payday series, and after syncing hundreds of hours into that game alone, fast forward some years later, and here we are.
Payday 3 has been released, and to be honest, I'm impressed by some of the mechanics and features they brought into the game, but I'm just not blown away like I thought I was going to be.
Improvements to ui
Along with some of the additions that Payday 2 did not have first, the UI looks so much better. I don't know who worked on the ux and UI, but it's just so simple; it's so clean and easy to understand visually.
Vendors
Something that wasn't in Payday 2 that I'm glad Starbury's added to this game is a vendor tab. In this game, you have Gage the Arms Dealer gleam. The mask designer is Mr. Wright, who is the tailor, and Set a Ghee, who is the currency broker's setegi. Role is very interesting, one though the currency broker tab allows you to purchase something called C Stacks, which is a secondary currency that can be purchased with in-game money and used for high-end equipment, special weapons, and cosmetics.
Loadouts & skills
We also Get to see an updated loadout screen that allows you to customize nearly every facet of your character's weaponry by simply playing with your character and weapon of choice. Weapon attachments become purchasable; the more attachments you get, the better your weapon is. [__] You also get to unlock new skills by researching a skill of your choosing while leveling up other skills you have.
Customization
equipped customization. Is there also a component of this series, which I love dearly, that gets a decent amount of love in this title, with mass customization and weapon customization still being intricate and detailed like you would expect from a game like this?
Heists & maps
Talk about the heist and maps that are currently in the game.
From what I've been able to play, the maps feel very familiar, and depending on who you are, that may or may not be a deal-breaker for me. I'm glad to see things like a bank heist in a millionaire's house make a return to the series because if there's anything I like more than stealing money from the Federal Reserve, it's stealing from a multi-million-dollar Tycoon.
Leaders, no rest for the wicked, is the first bank heist and the first mission you play, and to be honest, it's very linear but a lot of fun. Road Rage is a mission where you take control of a bank truck using an EMP, open the back, steal the money, and escape in a van. Dirty Ice is a jewelry store.
I love the layout of the map on this one. Rock the Cradle, which takes place in a club under the surface, is an art gallery heist where you steal artwork; Golden Shark is a massive bank heist that takes you to a cargo dock where you still have electrical components; and last but not least. Touch the Sky is a penthouse heist.
Recycled maps
In between these missions, there are playable cut scenes that give you some lore and story that ties all these missions together while Reading off the list of maps we have in this game, you would probably notice that the map sounded very similar to maps and missions in Payday 2. And the only reasonable explanation is that they're almost exactly the same missions, and I know some of y'all are probably saying to yourselves, Well, what the hell is even the point?
Why wouldn't I just go play Payday 2 and save my money? My response to that is, What else are they going to do? It's a game about robbing banks and stealing from rich people. Besides, the missions are nostalgic and are a better iteration of those beloved maps we had over a decade ago, so yeah, the maps may be a copy and paste, but again.
I don't mind because I love Payday 2 so much. I also want to include that out of all of the base game missions that you can play.
Awards system & unlockables
I would say the nightclub map is hands down the worst one; it's confusing, convoluted, and just pissed me smooth the [ __ ] off two more major things I want to point out that before moving on to whether I think the game is worth it, it has to deal with the extracurriculars, a.k.a., challenges, awards, etc.
The amount of stuff to unlock and grind for in this game is unexpected and plentiful; there are 639. Heist challenges: 89 career challenges and 408 combat challenges That means you and your friends on day one can immediately get to work on unlocking Monumental 1136, challenges. If you want to know something else, that'll shiver your damn timbers.
There are 30 weapons in the game that all have level-based unlockables. Depending on the weapon, you'll have anywhere between four and eight unlockable attachment slots, with about two to six attachments to unlock per slot, meaning the amount of [__] to unlock for your weapons is also close to a thousand items in the entire game.
On day one, release one more order of business. You remember these You want to know what they look like. Well, here you go, God, damn okay.
Is payday 3 worth the money?
So with all of the important information out of the way, here is my opinion on payday 3. Game Day One will cost you forty dollars, with four major paid DLCs dropping within the first year. The amount of material to engage with within payday day three is honestly more than I expected, even though there was only a heist that you could clear through in about five hours regardless.
In light of that fact, the developers are giving us content until next fall before they announce year two content, which is undoubtedly worth the price of the content. It is undoubtedly, 100 it, Is worth the money on that front, but say you're one of those people who only care about how the game feels.
You say to me, Rad Beard, who gives a [__] about the missions. I just want to know if the game feels great, and right there is where that forty dollars is being called into question for me. The game mechanically feels light, the guns feel spongy, and overall, mechanically, the game doesn't feel nearly as good as Payday 2.
