Payday 3 Open Beta & Everything You Need To Know

Intro

Intro

Well, it's actually pretty soon from the time I made this article, just two days away, or maybe if you're watching this and maybe tomorrow. So that's going to be from September 8th at 6 p.m. Central daylight time, to September 10th at 11 a.m. Central daylight time, and the way to get access, depending on your platform, is to visit the Steam Store.

If you're on Steam, go to the restore page and look for the request access button near the top of the page. Note that, obviously, if you're watching this and the beta is over, then the button will not be there. I just have to make sure I put this in there as well. Now, if you're on Xbox, go to the Xbox Insider.

Hub Navigate to previews and select Payday 3 to get access there now.

Beta faq

And important stuff—I think that's in there anyway, so start. They ask why you're running a second beta, and they answer that we need to break the servers. We tested them last beta, and this time they want to break them. Next, they ask how I know if I was given access to the beta and how long I need to wait to find out if I'm able to join.

This is interesting because on Xbox's first come, first served, but steam, you should see the game appear in your library shortly. After requesting access, next they say, Can I capture article or stream the beta? Yes, you are free to create content from your experience in the technical beta. Are there limitations in the beta that won't be in the release version of the game?

Yes, this is a slice of the full game, containing one heist of four heisters. Most, but not all, weaponry and cosmetics are included. There's also a level cap of infamy level 22, meaning that not all skill points will be available during the beta. Will my progression from beta carry over to the release version of the game?

No, progression from the Payday 3 beta will not carry over to the release version of the game, and this is true for both the Steam beta and the Xbox beta. Does the quality of the technical beta represent the quality of the game at launch? They reply with no We want to stress test the servers, not the game itself, so it's the same build.

Has the build been improved since the last beta? The build used in the technical beta is from April this year, so expect a significant number of improvements in terms of performance, gameplay features, and balance. UI and quality as compared to the development branch and version we'll see at launch.

Questions

Questions

Now this question is about the reveal we got from Joy and Pearl. If you haven't seen this. I'll post a picture of the two new heisters joining the payday gang that we got a few days ago, or maybe even a week or two ago from the time I'm making this, but the question asks: are the recently revealed characters Joy and Pearl in this version of the beta?

This is the same build we used during the previous technical beta, as I mentioned earlier in April. Will there be additional features or settings for the launch? Yes, there are a number of features, settings, and improvements that we didn't include in the technical beta. As an example, the aim assist for controllers has been improved in the development version of Payday 3.

beta

While the technical beta uses the older version, will there be any balance changes for launch? Yes, the development version differs in many aspects of the technical beta skills. Weapons, weapon mods, tools, accessories, and AI will have all gone through several iterations and improvements by the time you get your hands on the launch version of Payday 3.

This next one asked, How do I join a party for people trying to group up and play with friends for the purposes of the technical beta? Private lobbies will not be available; however, in the final release, you'll be able to create a public or private lobby to access your friends list. Press O on the keyboard or on the menu of an Xbox controller.

The friends on your chosen platform should appear in the appropriate menu automatically. To add users from outside of your platform, use the search at the bottom of the social menus and search for the username or handle to add people. Cross-platform, follow these steps. They say Steam friends add each other on Steam, and the users will now be found in a category of Steam friends, and for Xbox, it'll pretty much be the same thing for Xbox friends now for their nebula where they have their own progress carryover stuff; it's kind of like payday's separate thing: Friends added through the in-game friend feature, which is found at the bottom of the list in the social tab, will appear under the category Payday Next.

I ask how the infamy levels work, unlike in Payday 2, where you gain infamy by completing challenges. The infamy level serves as your account level as well as being what you'll need to increase in order to gain access to the new weapons and cosmetics. In the release version of Payday 3, there will be a challenge book UI that lets you track and check progress on challenges.

This will take place behind the scenes of the technical beta, but you will not have the associated UI or menu. And lastly, is there a tutorial there? It will be in the release version of Payday 3. That's pretty much it. But definitely check out this beta.
